Ever considered what your day could look like captured on old analog/film cameras?

If you are someone who is in awe of the craft of analog, I do photograph 95% of weddings like this.
I do bring a digital camera to cover certain aspects of the day if needed.
It is a venture that I am super passionate about for many reasons both philosophical and artistic, but overall I find it the best medium for me.

The process of analog is a dance between being experimental and relying upon my ability to problem solve within the confines of film. There is something about having to slow down and be more intentional with how you photograph.

I truly believe that being restricted encourages creativity. And film is a perfect example of this.

Respond to the email this was sent through with a confirmed date, location and preferred package to book and I will be back in touch ASAP. If you would prefer to chat and meet before booking I am more than happy too.

FAQs

How do we book you in?

A 25% booking fee/deposit secures your date with us. Dates are held once this is paid, and are allocated on a first come, first deposit-placed basis.

The other 75% is due within 2 weeks of the wedding day. Please do not pay earlier unless we discuss it.

What do we get?

Photos are delivered via a high resolution online PicTime gallery (example here). This allows you to download any/all images from the day either at high resolution for printing, or web size to plaster all over socials to show your friends.
Also, it has a print store attached to it where you can order prints, albums and so much more.
Also, you can have the actual negatives from your day.

Do you work alone?

When I was shooting just digital I shot myself. But film is a slower process, so I bring either my partner or another professional photographer friend along to help reload cameras as well as second shoot.

How to timeline…

Let me help you with this. Photographers are generally one of the only vendors who are there from the beginning to the end of formalities.
So we have a good idea of how to create a good timeline so things work nicely and allows plenty of time to party on!

What if we don’t like getting photos done?

Do not fear my friends, I can empathise with you on this. Photos feel sucky I agree, but my approach is no posing at all. Just pure photojournalism approach.
I just want to capture the real life stuff. We can go get some nice fun, candid portraits if you want to. But if you don’t wanna you don’t gotta.

Entirely on film?

Kind of… If I can I will.
Film doesn't do the best when it’s really dark with no flash. So dark scenarios like speeches and maybe a few first dance shots I would use a digital camera. (example here)

I adore film with flash, it is probably my favourite way to shoot film. I just don’t think firing a flash in someones face as they do a speech is the most empathetic thing to do haha.

Where are you based?

I actually live in Newcastle NSW, but base myself between here, the Blue Mountains and Sydney. I travel regularly all over Australia and the world for work.

How long til we get the photos?

Developing, scanning and organising film negatives post wedding is a lengthly process. This may vary delivery times, but if all is running smoothly I can deliver you images to you as digital files within 2 weeks. (quick I know)

Worst case it can take up to 4-6weeks unless specified otherwise.

What package should I get?

The big overall answer is, let’s just talk about it on a call.
It varies so much from what you want to do, what time of year, what you value being captured, where in the world are we doing it, travel etc….

But I am a quality over quantity type of person. I won’t try and upsell hours if I don’t think they’re needed. Weddings are expensive enough.
